Oh, how I love rooftop afternoons in New York City!
Hello! Maria here, editor of Royal Lace Bridal.
It was the beginning of the year and I had been exchanging emails with Pablo Beglez, the amazing photographer who made me fall deeply in love with his photography style.
Pablo was only going to be in NY for just a couple of days, and I knew I had to make something happen. Here is the catch, I had to plan everything in less than 2 weeks, HA- HA!
Ok so, this is when you wish you had a “fairy godplanner” like Jackie from Busy Bride. Jackie help me coordinate a team of incredible vendors that make this bohemian rooftop afternoon a one of a kind!
My inspiration for this shoot came from a trip I had last year to Woodstock, NY. I had stayed at a beautiful tipi and I couldn’t stop thinking or talking about doing a shoot in one. So, I had the crazy idea of having a romantic elopement styled shoot in a rooftop with a tipi… Well, dreams come true!
The set was decked up by Artsy Flora with stunning garden roses, peonies, ranunculus, amaranthus, lisianthus, queen anns lace, rice flower, eucalyptus and ivy.
I styled the bride and the groom (who got engaged a week before the shoot, BTW! How cute is that!?) For Emily, I thought she would look lovely on a layered lace dress which made her feel so comfortable during shoot. We all know comfort is key! Javier look on point wearing a more relax look than what we are used to see on grooms. I styled him with a heather vest, button down and the perfect accent.. a silk ascot!
I gave and extra touch of bohemian vintage feel by using fresh herbs and fruits, and beautiful curated pieces from Bits & Pieces Vintage Rentals.
What do you guys think of Royal Lace first styled shoot? I really hope you like it, go ahead and let me know what you love the most!
