Ladies, prepare to fall hard for Kelsey Genna! With a fondness for the modern, colorful and feminine bride Kelsey gives us a collection filled with floral details and playful textures. These dresses will be a must for brides who are looking for a chic unique look!
I’ll tell you that the first thing that got my attention when I first saw Kelsey’s gowns at bridal market week in NYC, was the splash of lovely pastel and metallic colors, and her undying love for delicate florals that pervade her collection. The designs include a white lace two piece set, and a gorgeous blush column gown with neckline embellished with roses just to mention some of my favorites.
Kelsey began selling one-off pieces to an international market at the age of seventeen. The New Zealand designer would spend her lunch breaks at university hand-sewing pieces which funded her early love for travel. The designer went on to officially launch her namesake label in 2011.
Her collection is available online and through selected worldwide stockists, with one-of-a-kind pieces also offered exclusively through the atelier.

What are your favorite places to look for inspiration?
Nature, Travel, Street Style, Photography, the Internet.
What are your favorite fabrics to work with?
I like fabrics that don’t crease and are easy to wear. Natural and eco-friendly fabrics. Fabrics which have been ethically made.
The fact that every day/step of the process is different. Colour and texture.
What do you love about working with brides?
They are always happy and in love and excited about the process of having such a special dress made.
What are the three things you cannot live without in your studio?
I don’t think there is anything. I kind of make do with what I have wherever I am. If I was to say anything, probably my Jawbone (music box).
Do you have a must-wear accessory or wardrobe staple?
I actually do not. I’m not so sentimental when it comes to my wardrobe. I travel a lot so things usually get passed on to a friend on a regular basis. I like prints and colour though.
How would you describe your every day style?
It depends on where I am and the climate. Right now I’m in Northern Australia where its really hot and humid. So I have been living 24/7 in 70s printed kaftans and wedges. I wear a lot of vintage.
