Hello, Maria here, editor of Royal Lace Bridal.
I have big dreams. One of them is to create and share with my followers what I can do as a wedding and bridal fashion stylist.
A couple of months ago, I was dreaming about bringing to life a Woodland Bohemian styled photoshoot out in the woods inspired by jewel tones and watercolors. I wanted it to be a one-of-a-kind experience with vendors that were new to me.
My goal: go deep into the woods and create a bright, beautiful, bohemian set captured at sunset.
I started reaching out to vendors and Diane Rodriguez from Spanglish Studios was right on board! The Kaaterskill in upset NY was suggested by Diane as a location and I decided to reach out to them immediately. BTW, Their venue is absolutely out of this world you guys; there were endless opportunities to shoot in many different sceneries.
Kim from the Flower Blossom Farm was a gem! I was really surprised by her knowledge. With her help, we decided to use gorgeous blooming flowers right out of her farm.
North Country Vintage Rentals guided me to find the perfect props, furniture, tabletop and the china I envisioned from their extensive selection. I DIY’ed the napkin tables in blue and purple ombre colors to bring some contrast to the table.
Besides planning and creating this inspirational shoot, I worked with the bride and groom (a real couple, shout out to Jessica and Andy!) on finding the perfect style for them, a service that I provide to all my clients including bridesmaids, bridal parties and/or mother of the bride. I wanted them to feel comfortable and happy with a dress and a suit that represented their personality and who they are. *No “costumes” were chosen in this shoot.*
Bohemian Mint designed gorgeous watercolor stationary for this shoot in an array of pink and purple colors.
Daniela Rodriguez NYC created a beautiful braid that worked like a charm with the lovely flower crown, and the make up was right on point!
Sugar and Chic Shop provided gold animal wedding thank you place cards and the pretty bride & groom chair signs.
The incredible cakes and desserts took form in the talented hands of Claudia from Crisan Bakery who perfectly captured the inspiration by creating: a scrumptious Mulberry Cream Chantilly Millefiori Ombre Cake (I honestly had dreams about this cake coming to life since I had never seen anything like it and I was so excited to see what Claudia could do), luscious Berry Ganache Naked Cakes and a lovely Lavender Honey Cream Puff Tower, accompanied by dreamy petit fours (watercolor macaroons, heavenly chocolate cover strawberries, green coconut cakes, and blueberry tarts).
Everyone at the shoot was a trooper, since it had been raining the day before and the morning of the shoot. We didn’t know how the shoot was going to go but by the time we got to the venue and set up everything looked beautiful. All the hard work was worth it, I think we can all agree that we couldn’t be happier with the results!
I really hope you enjoy our creation as much as we did!
