5 Beautiful Florida Wedding Ideas for 2027

There are many beautiful wedding options for 2017 Florida weddings, and I am going to share 5 pretty wedding ideas for 2027 Florida weddings! You will see that most of these wedding ideas are a far cry from the typical Florida beach wedding complete with seashells and a melting cake in July that will melt faster than your mascara will in July.
I live in Orlando, so I get to see a lot of different weddings, all with their own unique twist and style. You can have a very romantic garden style wedding or go tropical and have a wedding that transports your guests to a tropical island for a few hours. And with so many different locations and styles to choose from, it can be hard to choose just one. Why choose a style for your wedding that does not reflect you?
First off, grab a glass of iced coffee, and pour yourself a glass, mine is just sweating on my desk right now! Okay, now that we have that out of the way, let’s look at 5 different Florida wedding ideas that could be some of the prettiest weddings of 2027.
1. Old Florida Garden Weddings With a Romantic Twist
Oh my goodness, I love this one!
One idea for old Florida garden weddings for2027 is to utilize giant oak trees with Spanish moss to create a dramatic backdrop for your wedding. Adding soft pink rose petals, twinkling string lights and long dinner tables down the center of the tables set up in the beautiful garden will create a romantic yet natural ambiance.
Old Florida weddings are a perfect choice for couples wanting a relaxed, natural atmosphere. For these weddings, locations like Winter Park, Mount Dora, and even historic sites all throughout Central Florida provide gorgeous scenery and bring to life the perfect nostalgic, romance filled atmosphere of Old Florida.
I have seen several weddings where the couple has incorporated garden-inspired details. For 2027, a Florida wedding with garden-inspired details could include items like: floral draped tablecloths, vintage mismatched plates, soft green in color gowns and accessories, handwritten notes in the dinner place setting, and more.
The photos of this type of wedding are especially going to be amazing. Just imagine the photos of the bride standing under an enormous oak tree wearing her long wedding dress. These are the types of wedding photos that your grandmother is going to frame and put on a dresser in her bedroom for the next twenty years.
Just one piece of advice for these Old Florida-inspired weddings. For an Outdoor Garden Wedding, consider having your celebration in the Spring or in late Fall. The weather is beautiful in these time frames and it makes for such a wonderful and romantic celebration. Just make sure to have a rain plan as Florida weather can be unpredictable!
2. Tropical Weddings That Feel Like a Luxury Vacation
Why should you have to travel to the Caribbean for a tropical wedding?
When you think of a tropical wedding, most people automatically associate it with having to travel to the Caribbean, however, tropical can be so much more in Florida. We have all the basic elements of palm trees, ocean air and sunshine already. Now, let’s add some personality to these existing beautiful elements.
The main thing to focus on for a tropical wedding for 2027 is big palm leaves, lots of bright coral colored flowers, soft peach accents, bamboo chairs and really elegant linen table draping. Playful details everywhere.
I like the idea of the wedding party having a welcome drink at the wedding in coconut serve ware… a little extra, yes, but it is so pretty and I would totally take a picture of it before drinking it!
Also worthy of note is the Florida Keys. With wedding locations in Key Largo and Islamorada, your guests will feel as though they are on a distant island in the Caribbean during your tropical wedding.
A wedding welcome cocktail served in a coconut at your Florida wedding ceremony and then served at your reception is a great idea for a wedding bar. Even more so if you’re planning a Florida beach wedding, especially a beach wedding on the Gulf Coast in locations such as Clearwater Beach, St. Pete Beach or Siesta Key Beach. The beautiful waterfront venues in Key Largo, the aqueous settings in Islamorada and the lush, exotic grounds of resorts in Key West provide a romantic backdrop for a tropical wedding ceremony and wedding reception!
Now for a reality check… My mom was always worried about how I’d look on our special day. And honestly, the Florida weather can be VERY uncooperative to beautiful hair! I would recommend talking with your hair stylist for a style that will look amazing even when it’s humid outside. An elegant updo could be a great option for you.
3. Intimate Beach Weddings With Soft, Natural Colors
I must say, beach weddings are popular for a reason in Florida. Our state is home to some of the most gorgeous beaches in the country and I think that many of our weddings could be wonderfully held on the shore of one of these stunning beaches.
For 2027 I will look to the smaller, softer side of beach weddings.
Imagine a beautiful intimate beach wedding where 30 of your closest friends and family members attend your special day. Each of the bridesmaids wear their hair down and stroll down the beach in their bare feet. Soft creamy white flowers adorn the simple wooden chairs that line the back of the aisle. In the distance the ocean sparkles and shines.
Colors of champagne, sandy beige, pale blue and soft blushes are especially effective for an intimate beach wedding.
Places like Anna Maria Island, Naples and the beaches up and down the Gulf Coast of Florida would make beautiful and intimate locations for a laid-back celebration.
And another thought on beach weddings… after the ceremony, serve up a beautiful dinner right on the beach. A long table with candles in glass holders, lots of fresh flowers, and everyone eating and visiting together is a wonderful way to continue your special celebration.
Doesn’t that sound sweet?
The smell of the salt air and the sound of the waves rollin’ in…!
Be sure to look up your beach location’s rules and permit requirements prior to selecting your ceremony site. Public beaches can be tricky to work with and no one wants to fight with chair placement on your wedding day.
4. Colorful Florida Weddings With Big Personality
So, I was thinking for all of you very colorful wedding types out there, this could be your dream wedding for 2027.
After years of white, beige and more beige, I’m looking forward to some personality being thrown into wedding colors for 2017. Bright pink flowers, hot orange napkins, yellow candles and more could really make for some beautiful and playful wedding colors.
Pink flowers, orange napkins, yellow candles, and colorful patterned tablecloth and linens. Bridesmaids dresses in differing but equally beautiful colors.
Yes, that may look like a lot to plan but trust me it is going to look amazing!
And another reason why I think Florida is so well suited to colorful weddings: the exterior of a Florida wedding is often its interior too. So for colorful weddings I’m thinking of tropical flowers and citrus color schemes for outdoor ceremonies and events held in lovely Florida venues.
Using oranges as part of your table decor is an excellent idea. You can have white tablecloths with little bowls of fresh Florida oranges and beautiful pink flowers and have the colors of the linens and glassware to complement the decor.
Simple, cute and full of Florida personality!
These foods can also be served at your bars throughout the night. For example, a signature citrus cocktail can be served with key lime pies or doughnuts for a late night snack.
Seriously though, your guests are going to be sitting for three hours or more, so even if you choose super trendy chairs for your wedding, make sure they are somehow supportive for your guests’ backsides!
5. Romantic Florida Estate Weddings With a Weekend Celebration
This might be my favorite wedding idea for 2027.
Plan more than an afternoon and evening of celebrations with your loved ones and turn your special day into a full-on weekend of celebration with your family and friends.
There are so many beautiful historic estates, private homes and resort properties in Florida that would be perfect for a Weekend Celebration wedding!
Imagine your guests arriving for the weekend at your Florida Estate Venue. You could have a casual welcoming party with pizza and lawn games on Friday evening, with cocktails and refreshments served under the stars.
Saturday is the main event of the wedding and we would plan for an outdoor ceremony followed by a candlelit dinner and then dance the night away under the stars.
The next day, the family and friends who came to celebrate would return for a really fun brunch to wrap up the celebration – waffles, fresh fruit and coffee, and some family members could even be talking about the dancing of Uncle Bob from the night before.
I really like the idea of having time to celebrate with all of the loved ones that traveled to be there for your wedding.
Soft white flowers, candles, elegant greenery and warm lighting can create a simple yet beautiful decorations scheme for an estate wedding. The venue will already have so much character and decorations can be added to enhance the beauty of the venue rather than over powering it.
Just make sure when you book your estate, they can accommodate your guests for their stay, as well as provide transportation for them as needed. Also ask about what other activities they can offer, as well as their rules and regulations for events held at the property. Some venues are better suited for ceremonies only.
I think it is also really important to note that you don’t have to plan activities for EVERY part of the weekend. Consider planning a casual welcome gathering on Friday and then an optional farewell brunch on Sunday for example.
A Little Florida Wedding Advice Before You Pick Your Favorite
It’s so important to remember that even though your wedding will look amazing in pictures, the comfort of your guests is also very important!
The sunshine is beautiful, the beaches are lovely, but hot, windy, and even lots of mosquitoes in the beautiful gardens. All this you have to be prepared for when choosing a location for your Florida wedding.
Comfort must be of equal or greater importance than flowers, food and photos for your Florida wedding for 2027. I would put equal emphasis on guest comfort as I would to beautiful floral arrangements, excellent cuisine and wonderful wedding photography.
And give them cold drinks before they take their seats outside. Provide them with some comfy seating in a shaded area of your choice. Provide an indoor space should it rain. It’s that simple.
Guest comfort is important to your wedding guests, and recognizing and meeting their needs prior to the ceremony will be appreciated by them long after the wedding has passed.
And remember, don’t feel like you have to go with all of the current trends. If you like a certain color, go with it. If you want to serve a particular food, then do it. The most important thing is to make sure you have fun with your wedding.
It’s going to be so many years from now and you’re sitting on your couch with your wedding album in your hands. You’ll be laughing at some of your guests’ ridiculous dance moves and smiling at some of the sweetest moments you had forgotten about. I’m sure you won’t even care if your napkins matched the current trend of the wedding world. You’ll just be happy that everyone looked and felt so wonderful. You’ll even be able to recall how you made it through your entire Florida wedding without losing your mind, your lipstick or one of your bridesmaids.
And if you managed all three of these then you certainly deserve another slice of wedding cake!
